AI is a partner for UX, not replace our jobs
Here’s a question for you guys:
How long will it take to train a human to learn your UX workflow compared to an AI?
So when we hire a new person, it usually doesn’t take too long to onboard them and they can start working right away.
AI can only help in more cookie-cutter workflows… If a project is very tailor-fit to a specific subject matter, I wouldn’t recommend using an AI at all.
If you tell the AI a prompt for a user flow, then later you ask to change the entire journey again, how long and how detailed can it work on those updates? We all know that in this industry, we have lots and lots of iterations. Can the AI completely work alone and be an SME? I doubt it!
AI can help speed up the process, and the UX designer can polish the results. Let’s be real, no company has all the time in the world to wait for the AI to learn the entire business. Plus, humans created AI. We humans are not perfect, AI can NOT be perfected! Sure, in this day and age a lot of jobs had been automated. BUT — we are in this tech industry to keep improving a lot of these digital products and services. That is entirely because none of these are perfect, will never be, but can always be improved.
